My best girl, Luci nestled amongst a bouquet of cosmos from my garden bring to mind warm summer evenings enjoying our yard together.

Her shining golden eye likens her to the delicate flowers surrounding her. Figuring out how to paint dark fur and giving a soft and springy feel to the curls was a fun learning process.

About the Artist

Kiren Niki Sangra is a practicing artist from Grande Prairie, Alberta. She attended the Grande Prairie Regional College (now called Northwestern Polytechnic) and the Alberta College of Art and Design (now called Alberta University for the Arts), earning both her Diploma in Fine Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jewellery and Metals.

She is the curator at the Centre for Creative Arts (Grande Prairie). Niki’s work encompasses a wide variety of media, her favourites being watercolour and acrylic painting, drawing and fibre arts.
